In Star Sister, I describe the encounters I’ve had with the Q’ero people of Peru, some of the most profoundly healing experiences of my life. One organization that understands how important it is for the Western world to connect with such wisdom lineages is the Pachamama Alliance.
Born of a vision that Lynne Twist received from the Achuar people of Ecuador, the Pachamama Alliance seeks to empower the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest to preserve their land and culture and, using insights based on that work, to educate and inspire individuals everywhere to bring forth a thriving, just, and sustainable world.
One important initiative of the Pachamama Alliance is their Rainforest Journeys. They’re a great way to experience the richness of life in the Amazon—and maybe even to be invited to participate in one of their sacred ceremonies.
